How to Select Raw Rubber for Conveyor and Transmission Belts?
Quick AnswerCover rubber, skim rubber, and other plies of a belt may use different formulations; identify the ply position, operating conditions, and current system before discussing 3L, CV, or standard grades.
Layer Assessment
Abrasion resistance, tear resistance, adhesion, and heat resistance requirements for conveyor belts may originate from different rubber layers. Transmission belts additionally require dynamic flexing and fatigue resistance. A customer simply stating they produce 'belts' is insufficient to specify a single grade.
Pre-Inquiry Information
Confirm the ply position, verified natural rubber proportion, current grade, monthly volume, and technical approver; application suggestions do not constitute a conclusion to replace existing formulations.
