Is a Mixing Center an End Customer of Natural Rubber?

Updated: 2026-10-08 · RIOMI Editorial · Procurement
Quick AnswerMixing centers are not purely downstream industries, but demand-aggregation nodes: total mixing volume, NR system share, NR mass fraction, self-procurement ratio, and overall yield must all be broken down to calculate the true addressable volume of natural rubber.

Why It Matters

Specialized mixing centers supply mixed compounds to multiple rubber-goods manufacturers and may simultaneously control formulation, processing, raw-material procurement, and material supply for multiple end customers. Where genuine purchasing control exists, a single raw-rubber qualification may cover multiple downstream clients, creating amplified value.

Six Operating Models

In-house mixing centers serving group-internal factories; independent commercial mixing centers purchasing raw materials on their own and selling mixed compounds to multiple customers; toll-mixing centers that charge only processing fees—not direct buyers but of high intelligence value; full-material-package mixing centers that typically hold strong raw-rubber procurement authority; hybrid models that must be split by customer and material code; and public Banbury platforms where the true raw-rubber purchaser must first be identified.

How to Calculate the Addressable Volume

Addressable NR volume ≈ Total mixing volume × NR system share × NR mass fraction in mixed compound × self-procurement ratio ÷ overall yield. For example, with 10 万吨 mixing volume, NR system share at 30%, average NR mass fraction in compound at 40%, self-procurement at 50%, and overall yield at 97%, the addressable volume is approximately 6186 吨—not 10 万吨.

If a formulation is specified by the end customer, the mixing center’s agreement to trial the sample does not equal end-customer approval—the approval chain must be traced to the end customer.
